We aim to combine cutting-edge technologies to record from the human brain with state-of-the-art machine learning algorithms to dissect, understand, and model the network mechanisms of the human brain in silico. Combining our computational research efforts with the Perception and Brain Dynamics Laboratory under the supervision of Dr. Biyu this research is our joint effort to combine excellence in artificial intelligence, cognitive neuroscience, and neurological surgery into a single cohesive effort to uncover the secrets of the human brain and implement them within modern computing hardware.
Additionally, we have active projects studying multi-agent reinforcement learning (MARL), and emergent language from inter-agent communication in MARL. Language and symbolic learning is fundamental to higher intelligence, and we seek to understand it better both in silico and in our patients with language disorders.
